Do you come from a Circus or Show Business background?
Yes.
Tell us about yourself and your background!
Graduated RBBB Clown College in 1982. Traveled with the Blue Unit as a clown until 1996. Moved into management at that point and stayed 'on the road' until June of 2004. I left the road and worked as an entertainment manager with Walt Disney World's Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show and Finding Nemo the Musical. In June of 2008 I returned to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus as Talent Mananger.

Hi David... Great to meet you at Blackpool. Hope your stay in the Uk was good. Are you able to get your circus equipment from Beards? Tweedy says his having the time of his life talks more about the places he visits, than the show.
If ever your in the south of england feel free to visit us at Happy's Circus. Tour dates are posted at www.happyscircus.co.uk
Hi David! Are you in Orlando now? We're going to be at Disney this Friday Jan. 16 thru Tues. Love to connect with you, but don't have a number. Email me at debbiejo@austin.rr.com Love Ya!
I live in the original Old Town, FL, which is 40 miles west of Gainesville, out in the "redneck riviera." So you're back with Ringling as talent finder? Good--send me some work! I went out on the Jose Cole Circus last year with my pick-out pony and worked my dogs singly. Do a search on YouTube for "clownelmogibb" and you can see a bad backyard video of my acts. I'm glad that you have kept working, although I would rather have seen you still performing instead of working a desk job. Richard Fick told me that you had settled in the Orlando area. We were sort of planning to try to organize an ex-Ringling get-together, but Richard's health tanked. I did manage to get him out to see one edition of Cirque du Soleil and the Anastasini's nice one-ringer. The docs have him doped up on painkillers much of the time, so I don't get to talk to him very often. I do stay in touch with Ross Wandrey at least once per week. Other than that, I practice the dogs, work a little construction, try to make ends meet. This CircuSpace is sort of fun, but my typing is almost as slow as my dial-up service, which takes a lot of the fun out of it. I've been going batty trying to get old video stuff from Beatty-Cole into my Windows Moviemaker program. It worked fine for the first seven I did and I haven't been able to get it to work since. Have you been looking at all the great international clowning videos on Pat Cashin's blog? I keep seeing bits I'd long forgotten about and would like to try in front of an audience. Unfortunately, I keep ending up working in hockey rinks that leave the glass in place, making audience participation almost impossible. Maybe I should go back to doing the big prop stuff. Once I trouped my kitchen gag on Slick Valentine's rodeo grounds dates and about killed myself trying to push things through the mud and soft dirt. So now I carry five dogs and a pony instead--what was I thinking?
Anyway, I'm glad you settled down and got a life. Sometime you can tel me about your other half, and I can bitch about mine. My regular email is elmogibb@yahoo.com, which I read religiously whenever I manage to find my reading glasses, which love to play hide-and-seek with me.
